So all the tree huggers Still Want A SMART Car?
Fordman:
Someone beet me to it!
Isnt the Miata the choice of those that want to live the 'Alternative' lifestyle? :laugh2:
Gay men for some reason love the Miata. ???
The 2 seater for me is the Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky. ;D
I wish Ford had bought Saturn, but OH well! :dizzy:

If we're gonna 'go there', I'd say the Smart Car and new Beetle have it beat and I doubt either of them will do 130.

I don't think they could make the new Beetle any less cool to own for a man.
Not sure where the miata thing came from. My BIL used to own one and my wife and I tease him about it.

I thought the Subaru Outback was the optimal choice for butch lesbians, and sock/sandal wearing gay men.
Miata is just a poor man's 2 door sports roadster.
ChadTower:
Outback is just an options package that goes across nearly Subaru's whole line of vehicles.
I had a Legacy Outback for a while. Adam Sandler couldn't begin to sing about what a piece of SAFDSAF that car was.

I own a 93 Miata, but in my defense when I bought it I had no idea of the reputation that they have. I have in fact taken my fair share of abuse for it. One incident in particular stands out to me. I'm 6'2 and myself and a date (a woman...so don't try going there) were just leaving the movies after seeing "The Incredibles" and apparently someone else who had just gotten out of the movie saw me getting into it and just started laughing his ass off at me. I'm assuming I got this reaction, because of the scene with Bob and his small car... that's what I tell myself anyway. Even though this car has these negative connotations associated with it, I have to say that its one of the funnest cars I have ever driven. It's like driving a souped up go cart. Even when going 50MPH it feels like your doing 150MPH. It also seems rather bullet proof and I have never had any major mechanical difficulties with it. After getting married and having kids though, I had to go out an buy an old Saturn, as a Miata is not at all practical for hauling them around in. It's been sitting in my garage for quite a while now and I should probably just sell it.
