80s movies - stand up or not?

Ginsu Victim:
My favorite podcast, The Hollywood Saloon, tackled the subject of which films will stand the test of time in this episode from Mar '06. This is a great podcast series for fans of true cinema.

Grasshopper:
I find that as I get older, movies from the 80s seem more and more cheesy. However, for some weird reason movies from the 70s seem to be getting better.

Ginsu Victim:
That's because some of the greatest movies ever made were made in the 70s.

ChadTower:

I'm not into dramas so a lot of those movies, however great they may be, don't mean much to me.  I'm all action/horror/comedy.  Lots of that in the 80s.

Hoopz:
The Warriors was in 79 and not on their list.  Idiots!   :P

Airplane was 1980 that movie is a classic for any decade or top 10 list.  It'll stand forever.  I think most of the classic 80s comedies stand alone:

Airplane,
Night Shift,
Caddyshack,
48 hours (comedy/action)
Blues Brothers
