Problem with control panel

I'm a first time MAME building having a problem with my control panel that's very frustrating to me.

I'm using an Ipac-2 with 2 joysticks and 8 buttons per player.

The issue I'm running into is that I can't get more than one or two of the buttons to work properly. If I open anything up it seems as though the joystick is stuck in the up position, and some buttons are pressing themselves. One or two buttons work correctly and produce the proper keystroke when pressed.

I have all the grounds daisy chained together and I'm using 22 gauge wire with quick disconnect clips crimped onto every one of them.

I first suspected it was the wiring because I used cat-5 originally with no clips, but rewiring it didn't change anything.

Another problem is that the passthrough doesn't always work on the I-pac. It's a ps2 version and to get any keyboard input from the passthrough I have to plug in the keyboard to the mobo first, and then plug in the i-pac...

Any thoughts?

any pics look over all your wiring make sure all your grounds are on. pretty simple when you hook up the other wires make sure everything is clean and open wire are not touching any other wires

make sure you are connecting to the correct plug on the micro switches. If you connect to the wrong on, I believe it is set to 'always on' until you press the button which turns it off. Opposite of what you want to do.

The grounds on each side are connect all to each other, the bottom terminal of the buttons. All of those go into the separate grounds on each side.

Take a close look at your wiring the ground looks good its the hot wire/ input wire that needs to be changed.
