| LEDWiz not working for me... most likely "user error" |

All, I've emailed GroovyGameGear, but not sure if I'll get a response on a weekend... was hoping to get my CP wired up but have run into a snag early on. I'm having trouble getting my NovaGems lit up using the USB version of the LEDWiz. Here are the details: 1. I have 22 NovaGems. 2. I have been VERY careful about handling the LEDWiz and I have it mounted on the four spacers. 3. I did a test install of 6 buttons. None light up. 4. I have the U5V jumpered to the X5V terminal (it came this way from factory). 5. I have all 6 NovaGems and their resistored-wires screwed down into terminal #s 1 to 6. 6. I took a second jumper wire and ran it from X5V to a terminal post with 12 pairs... then used jumper wires to provide this 5V to 6 additional terminals. 7. The 6 power wires from 6 NovaGems are screwed down to the terminal post to receive power. 8. I inserted the USB cable into the LEDWiz first. 9. I then inserted the other USB cable end into my powered laptop (plugged in to wall) running Vista - it then shows up in Device Manager as a working HID. 10. None of the buttons are lit up. Any advice? Thanks, Jim Kelly http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=67651.0 |

Are you using any software (LEDBlinky etc) to light them? They won't light up just by plugging the LED Wiz in. |

Are you serious???!!!! I figured at least the LEDs would engage! El stupido, here! :) No, I didn't install any software... I thought at its simplest it was just a device to light up the NovaGems with 5V power... thanks, Franco - I'll look into this. Jim |

GGG provides a basic software app which will let you turn the LED ports on and off - for testing. |

And no you're not El Stupido. It's a learning experience. You now know to look for the simplest solution first. Trust me - I used to be the person who'd take about the whole computer before realizing the reason the sound's not working was because the jack wasn't in all the way. |
