Tron the idea: Excellent
Tron the advanced CGI: Great
Tron the arcade game: Good looking
Tron the story: not so great

My wife was super excited to see the movie since she remembered the game (her brother had on in the early 90's), and it is prominent on the show, Chuck. She was pretty underwhelmed and mostly bored. I had to agree with her. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid. It did not age well. It was a big flop when it came out too.

Sorry, but the vast majority of the public (and many hobbyists) side with me.

I'm sure you wouldnt like to hear about what I think of the "vast majority".  Just because a movie isnt commercially successful doesnt mean it wasnt good.  Its sad to say but most people are just plain idiots.

I can cite countless of examples of movies that were commercial successes and not very good movies......say almost every Wil Smith movie ever made.

And the story was awesome.......program.

Transformers: The Movie was a complete and utter pile of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. That is all.  ;D

I have to assume that if you think Tron is a masterpiece, then you will also think the same of Transformers.
Flake:
I give Transformers a C.  I assume you are talking about the recent version, and no not the sequel.

I give Tron an A-/B+, considering the year it was released and the types of movies being released around that time.

I'm not sure you can really compare the two.  Transformers is simply an eye candy movie that just tries to keep your attention with explosions, car chases and hot chics.  Tron isnt that type of movie.  Not really even sure why you decided to try and compare them......

Anyway, to each their own I suppose.

I tried to watch Tron when I was 14. It bored me to tears asides from some of the visuals.
Would I appreciate it more as an adult?
