I could use a little Donkey Kong help (or suggestions)

What was used on an original cabinet to cover the piece of wood where the instruction sticker goes and that also holds the bottom bezel in place?  The cabinet I have (see pic) is bare wood which is obviously not right - what goes over it?  Laminate?  Vinyl?  Paint?  Something else?  I'd appreciate some suggestions...

Thanks!

Laminate

wilsonart 1560 (matt black) is perfect match

PM me I have some scraps that should be enough to cover that

the top piece was missing on mine, I replaced it with that laminate and you can't tell the difference between that and the front piece

Thanks Bender - with all the help you've given me on this maybe you should just come down to NJ and finish up the cab for me!  I have some ABS plastic laminate left over from the control panel that I could use but thanks for the offer.   Are you saying that there was also a piece of laminate on top of the wood too?  What about the groove for the bezel?

After thinking about this for a while I may end up just painting it - the rustoleum semi-gloss I used for the inside edges is great stuff - it dries nice and flat and covers great.  I don't know...

Bender:

originaly it must have been laminated then the grove cut right through the laminate
When I redid mine I painted the little bit behind the groove cause it wasn't going to be seen and just laminated the little part inftont of the groove
I'm glad I can help and really I don't mind or I wouldn't have offered
good luck, It's looking amazing so far

I've had good luck with krylon Semi-flat (rust proof or something like that) it matches the laminate pretty well and judging by you other projects you know how to do the paint right!
