It's addictive as hell, with a killer soundtrack and a very different game aim than traditional racers. Plus it's not unfair like many arcade racers, where time limits were set at unachievable levels to rape your credits.

Once you could do the boost correctly and drift fast you could get one credit to last you 15-20 minutes; not common with 'simulation control' arcade machines that became prevalent after 2000 where a pound would last you a minute every time.

It's the free form of it that appeals. You go where ever you want. Of course if you don't maximise your fares, you won't go far. That's the challenge. And it's funny, which isn't common in arcade racers...

If you want realism you could always go play a game where you navigate a yellow pizza that has no eyes and takes drugs round a neon maze getting chased by ghosts and occasionally eats massive fruit to keep his cholesterol down....  ;D
