Sit down cabinet build Nottingham uk
« on: November 02, 2015, 04:33:28 pm »
I've sketched up a cabinet almost ready for building now, it's based on the Nu Gen arcade cabinet. I'm planning to do all the controls fitting out but the actual cabinet Build I'm debating.

Should I...

Do the woodworking myself (long build maybe)
Get a cabinet maker to do it ( estimated 4 days labour)
Have it cut out with a CNC machine and assemble myself

Any advice appreciated.

Not sure how your budget fits with it all but if you have a good source and can afford it, I'd say to maybe go with the CNC option

Cnc is definitely the preferred option and I was hoping it would be cheaper than a labour intensive cabinet maker.
The plans I have in sketchup are about finished now I'm just copying and laying the pieces flat onto 8x4ft ready for a Cnc operator to do his magic.

I'm not 100% sure exactly how they need to be layer out but Ive got a friend who builds Cnc machines who may be able to advise.

Once I'm in front of my pc and I can figure out how to do it I will upload my plans.
