Mortal Kombat 2 Jamma PCB - Error on boot - why?
slapaham:
I'm potentially purchasing a MK2 PCB from someone... however, he says that
it generates an error on booting but the Rom test and everything else is fine.
I remember in MAME, initial boots of MK2 would always generate an error
and any boot after that initial boot would be error-free... Can anyone fill me
in with what the error might be, what it effect it may have and also if there
is a fix for it and whether booting it again might solve the problem?
Cheers!
HaRuMaN:
So does it boot at all? Is the game playable?
slapaham:
Supposedly functions perfectly, no problems whatsoever and passes all Rom checks... and I trust the guy I'm purchasing off....
Malenko:
prolly dead CMOS battery, change the dip to use switches instead of CMOS and see if the error goes away.

Or just change the battery. Then you can still make adjustments and changes via the menu and it will save them in memory.
But I agree, without seeing what the specific error says..... that is probably the number one most common error.
It'll boot up, pop up the error and then continue on reverting back to default settings.
