If Hewskie had posted a first place score, I wouldn't have accepted it (if it were my competition thread). If anyone comes in with a last minute post, wins, and it's their first post here.....I don't think that's cool. Maybe it's just me....
:dunno

I agree this is a friendly competition and I think we should all push each other to get the best score. If some holds a score till the last minute to win, that is not in the spirit of the competition, to me

I'd like to say that I had no ill intentions when making my post last night. I shouldn't have waited untill the LAST minute to post my score, and am fully willing to retract it. As Ginsu said, it really isn't cool to swoop in at the last minute and claim victory (well... even 2nd place).

That said, I've really enjoyed following along with these high score comps the past few weeks and this was the first time i was even close at all to competing. I would have posted right away, but i had to create my account first and that took about 3 days for the moderator to approve my avatar, then I got distracted and forgot.

I appologize for any disruption I caused and hope to compete fairly next week!

No disruption. :D I never claimed you had ill intentions. However, had you won a competition I'd set up, I'd have been reluctant to award the prize to someone I don't know (especially when that person has only one post).

We welcome everyone, it's just that we try to stress this is a friendly competition amongst our members and if we have new members swooping in and winning the contests, it might discourage others from participating.

Take no offense at my singling you out earlier, as none was intended.

Hewskie,

I was just speaking in general
I have no problem with your post. Mine was only an hour earlier and that was my first score post for this competition as well

we have just never discussed this in the forum before, so I was just thinking out loud about what would be best for our evolving little competition

Jeez, that's ---smurfin--- poor spoils. So what if someone holds a score? So what if it's their first post? WAHN.

isucamper is teh awsomz!

So, I was beginning to wonder..."Did he not have my correct address for sending my prize?  Did he forget?"  I certainly wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth & bug him about it.   ;D  But yesterday brought me a custom surpise.  See pics.

Thanks for giving me a good laugh today!

What's so funny?  That's the actually box art.

Sorry it took so long!  Had to order it and then had some unexpected travel come up.  Congrats though, you earned it!

Just watched the game-adapted-to-silver-screen Gladiator movie last night when I was laid up w/ some killer allergies.

Great movie--thanks again, isucamper.

I made sure to transfer the box art mod from the shrinkwrap to the box itself.  Don't wanna lose that!  :]

Thanks,
-Jason

It's an ok movie, but really... it's hard to adapt such a epic game to film.  They did an ok job.
