Does anybody know if this was ever completed? It cant be emulated on MAME for various reasons. I can only find a smattering of posts on various forums saying that it was a WIP. If it ever did get working I'll be getting a wheel for my cab ASAP! |
| bkenobi:
It's currently not in MAME (and likely never will) because of the discrete circuits used to build the machine rather than a CPU, right? Was it ever in MAME? I mean, Pong was way back when before it was removed, right? Were there other games like Pong that were removed because they weren't strictly emulation? |

Was/is this a video simulation similar to laserdisc games or like tose rollercoaster simulators you sometimes see? |

No. It was a video game, but the entire board was built using discreet circuits, rather than a processor-based board. That is why it's not in MAME. There was someone working on a simulator at one point. The original poster is asking about the status of that simulator. |

Yes, this is such a great game and it's a shame it was never fully simulated. There is a Monaco GP at the local arcade (Arcade Amusements in Manitou Springs, CO). I'd rate it as one of the best driving games of all time. It's such a pure reflex/skill game, I still enjoy it today. The steering wheel almost seems to physically control the car on the screen (hard to describe, it's just extremely accurate). |
