Threatening users == ban

I find this insulting, but what can I do about it? I could reply with another insult but how does that benefit me? It only makes things worse. I could response with the cheap insult that you are being like a nazi too, the nazi's threatened people. But what am I goin to gain from it? I could also say you europeans are rude. I know many europeans that usually respond in a rude manner at alt.games.mame. But I know a few that love to help people, even newbies, when they can so that would be an untrue statement. So making that generalization that you made just shows that you have a terrible temper and that you are a bigot against americans. Now, what you have said throughout all your posts here do you think the people of this community will think highly of you? Do you think they will take what you say seriously now? Do you think you can now contribute to better the board and spread useful knowledge to others?
It's like this. Say you were cut off in traffic? That can be seen as an insult. What do you do?
A) Drive up next to that person and threaten to run him off the road.
B) Honk at him
C) Don't care, anything I do can't help the situation and keep that person from doing that again.
If you answer:
A) What does this get you but alot of charges in court and plenty of jail time?
B) A honk back maybe, but otherwise nothing beneficial.
C) Keeps the situation from escalading.
Now, that's real life. We are on the internet here. To me you are just ones and zeros. If you reply to this with an insult why should I care what you think about me when you are just ones and zeros and I can just walk away leaving you in my information super-highway dust? Now, if you reply with a threat I can take that seriously. You ARE just ones and zeros to me right now so I know NOTHING about you. I don't know if you are telling the truth or not. You have a right to have your opinion of me (which may be in a form of an insult) but I have my right to take threats seriously as I don't know if they are true or not.
In short, don't take the internet so seriously!
