Another PC speaker hack tutorial...

OSCAR:
No, this isn't anything new or original...  But I did find a couple of inexpensive speakers and nice grilles that complement each other very nicely.  It was cheap, extremely simple, looks good, and sounds very authentic, so I figured it was worth putting together a small page detailing it in case anyone else was interested.  This new rash of mini-cabs and bartops (like my Happy Hour) comes to mind for good candidates for this type of setup.

1UP:
BTW Oscar, thanks for the advice awhile back on fixing the bass on my speakers by building some cardboard enclosures.  I had lost the bass due to removing the original PC speaker enclosures and mounting the speakers above the monitor.  Inside it looks like a duct-tape nightmare, but since I redirected the bass reflex with the cardboard, I can hear sounds I've never heard on my cab before (that's a good thing, really!)

IG-88:
Hey OSCAR, do you have some type of ID # for those Labtech speakers?

Sasquatch!:
Excellent info as always!  Thanks!

OSCAR:
IG-88:  The Labtec model # is LCS1050.

These 4" speakers have a pretty full sound in my cocktail.  I thought I might need to add some enclosures to increase the back-pressure on the cones like you did, 1UP, but they sound pretty good as they are.  The explosions in Galaga are nice & bassy, so they pass my test!  ;)
