Terminator Salvation

<< < (3/3)

Flake:
I will also echo other posts here - burning fires out in the open at night - was pretty silly.  Also, I would think with numerous HK's at the machines disposal they could be surveying the land tirelessly looking for the human's not so well hidden base camps.

Spoilers....................

Not sure its really a spoiler anymore but just in case.....

I kinda had the same thought about the previews/trailers spoiling the Marcus being a terminator plot line but then thought most people would probably come to the same conclusion after seeing him awake in 2018 that he had to have been a machine.  The opening death sentencing scene showed Cyberdyne Systems on the paperwork he signed to donate his body.

Even if you hadnt seen any trailers I dont think it comes as much of a surprise that he is a machine.  But now that I think about it I suppose the real shocker could have been that he doesnt know it yet.  So maybe that would have been a nice twist in the movie had the trailers not spoiled that surprise...

Now that I've had a long weekend to mull it over, this movie could have been lots better.

Spoiler...........................

One other comment - the control chip that Marcus rips away at the end must not be much of a control chip if he can just rip it off at will.  I suppose the "human" element present within him "overrides" the machines control but that just seemed silly.

spoiler...I think?

What is up with the model order for the terminators? I am going from memory here, but at the beginning, when they raid the Cyberdine facility, I believe the plans said T-800 for the new infiltrator machine. OK, so they are still on the drawing board? That lead me to believe that the cyborgs were new and had not appeared yet. In T1, Reese states the first generation infiltrators had rubber skin and were easy to detect.

OK, on to the governator...a T-101. If the first run of cyborg infiltrators (T-800) are still in R&D, how the hell is a T-101 beating the ---Cleveland steamer--- out of Connor? That troubled me, along with the bases and the fact that the machines had not dared to venture as far as they did when they were looking for Reese. So the machines are afraid of the humans? And why to all the machines look humanoid? I get the infiltrators, but what about those pirate looking T-600's? Maybe it is robot evolution. One last thing...and this really is a spoiler if you have come this far...Cyberdine tells Marcus that all other attempts to get to infiltrate the resistance have failed and pretty much said they had to make him believe he was human. Once again, the cyborgs have not even appeared yet...what other attempts? Some silver robot walked in and said he wants to join up?
