Travolta was actually suppose to be playing both characters, but I understand why you were confused.
Nicholas Cage on the other hand did a great job.
I read somewhere that he watched hours and hours of Welcome Back Cotter to get into both parts.
Vinnie Barbarino if he joined the FBI
Vinnie Barbarino if the Sweat Hogs became huge cartel.

I saw it once years ago and barely remember it. I just remember seeing the title and thinking Nicholas Cage was perfect, since his face actually appears to be sliding off his skull. ;D

It's about a plane that crashes out in the middle of nowhere....
Do they get out?!?
Who knows - watch the movie!
...
Oh wait, it's called "Flight of the Phoenix" so we already know they get out. Ho hum.

Well, now you really are showing a lack of understanding of a good story. The original 'Flight of the Phoenix' is bloody great! And the remake was ok too. It really doesn't matter if you think you know how a story ends, it's in the telling. Or do you only like stories that are totally nonsensical?Do you only watch Ingmar Bergmann movies or something?
edit: just noticed that you liked Angels and Demons. Nuff said...

Oh, it was okay - the story was totally preposterous but the acting was decent and the settings were neat.
Oh wait, are we discussing Angels & Demons or Flight of the Phoenix?

Ok, just saw it tonight as i happened to be walking past the cinema, almost forgot about it! I'd give it a 3.5/5. Solid performances, but early on you understand the 'bigger picture' of the hijack, which i think could have been hidden longer. The thing that irked me a bit is Travoltas character having the background he has isn't conducive (in my mind) to being a ringleader of hardened criminals. In the original book, that character is an ex green beret or something...
Funny, when i was in NYC in 2003, i think i saw the Pelham line in the subway and thought i'd jump on it just for laughs. Of course it probably goes to the middle of nowhere, where'd i'd get jumped and have to walk home or summink! So i didn't jump on it...
