My Xbox wireless coffee table controller

The level of ease/difficulty for this mod relies on which controller version you decide to use. I used a common ground (CG) version for minimal soldering. Other versions i hear have larger solder points to hit, but a lot more work involved wiring wise.

I'm pretty good at soldering, but still had several issues with small contacts lifting from the board. i then had to hit even smaller points as an alternate to fix my mistakes which really was a pain in the ass.

Got well sick of the magstick, and went for a much smoother Happ ultimate stick (modified to sit lower than standard) Also changed buttons around and made them all green. I took out the green inserts as i couldnt see the light through them:

I also bought a running led kit from 'GadgetGangster.com' and hooked it up to the buttons. I had to solder some of my own leds into the button casings as the ones i had were 5v and ended up being too dim. Just need a way to better diffuse the light, was thinking cotton wool, but this will do for now.....

More messy wires...Ugh!

And a short vid showing how it works......

Photobucket can be a right pain sometimes. Heres a link to the vid if you cant view the one above:

Still messing with light colours and such, but you get the idea......

I did something quite similar to this too... re-using items like this is a good idea when done sympathetically... I haven't got around to finishing it yet (which you can tell by the mess and bits hanging out everywhere!)... and even when I do, I'll probably have to sell it due to a lack of space as it's fairly big...

It's a supergun...

I used an old card table... heavy as hell and has a really nice retro look to it... the idea was to have it so the jamma board could slip under the controls so it's protected...
