Screwy Display on a Stern Playboy
« on: May 03, 2009, 05:33:17 pm »
Not my machine.  No picture - yet.  Says the screen comes up all garbled.

I know I've seen this before on another Stern, but I don't remember what the cause was.

If the DMD doesn't appear to be malfunctioning check the ribbon cables - to the DMD and the others as well.

I asked the guy to send me photos, and now the display is totally dead.  I told him to check over the connections.

Reseat the ribbon cable to the display and board. If you have another DMD for testing, swap it out. If the problem cont. with the new DMD, problem with the audio/ video board I would guess but I am speaking more from a Bally/ Williams perspective here.
