BASS!:

The only part he did wrong was made it too narrow, and instead of getting a monitor that would fit inside, he just hacked away at the cabinet he made.

So close, yet so far away.

TOK:

Looks like another victim of monitor paranoia. Every time someone mentions decasing, they get warnings of lightning bolts from the tube leaping 20 feet through the air to kill them.  :D

...and he wants $300 for it and it doesn't come w/ an ipac?  So that's $100 for the TV, $60 for the controls, and.... $140 for the wood and loving care?

with all due respect....
Yes his aracade machine is plug ugly. That was a silly thing to do with the TV. And I'm scared of those 20 trillion volt strikes ;D

But to be honest- our cabinets only look good to those of us in the hobby. They are not italian designer furniture. They are big ugly heavy complicated montrosities to anyone else. As a test- ask your partner(non sexist) - "hey darling I think my new 4 player upright cab with a 32" CRT, lightguns. a trackball, lighted buttons and a nice black cabinet with artwork would look great in our lounge room next to your new white leather sofa. What do you think?" :laugh2:

For those of you whose partners say "Yes darling I agree"- well you are fortunate and unnusual. I'm betting the majority of us would have our partners seriously doubting our sanity......

So don't be too harsh- whats gorgeous to you is ugly to someone else....
