I should add that I would be more than happy to pay for PDFs of all the Electronic Games magazines scanned.

What gave you that impression?  There is absolutely no charge to download the magazines.  There is a quota system in place (which resets every month) to prevent people from leeching, if that's what you were referring to.  Also, many of the more popular magazines have RapidShare links.

I don't run the site - I'm just a contributor, but I would imagine the hosting costs would get way out of hand without a quota system. People who contribute scans get an increased bandwidth allotment. And again, magazines with the RapidShare links have no quota (other than what RapidShare uses).  The member who is generous enough to upload using his paid RapidShare account puts up as many magazines as often as he can within the limits imposed on him by his ISP / RapidShare.

Unfortunately I never got to see any of these while growing up :( Fortunately they will all be brand new to me now! Which mag do you guys think covered the most arcade style gaming? I think that's where I'd like to start.

Well i looked around the site, And at that issue. And looked at newer issues of newer mags....like tha old stuff. This site is cool. Just wish I could get dreamcast magazine, it's listed without rapidshare links.

I see where the disconnect was.  The error message about downloading for paying members only was limited to direct downloading from retromags.  I didn't realize rapidshare downloading wasn't restricted.  downloading the massing scan now.  Thanks!
