ok i have my 4 player control panel fully completed using an ipac 4. each player has 6 buttons, and a player start button. i have a pause button, a config button, a coin 1, and coin 2 button, and an exit button. i have soldered the wired correctly to the i-pac4 but when i try to set the keys, there is doubling of key functions. WHY!!!! I tried moving some of the buttons to different open slots on my ipac 4, but still the same! like for example: my coin 1 button does the same thing as my exit button does. they both read the same "key J" in the button config menu in mame. WHAT THE HELL??? also my 4player left joystick function. is the same function as my damn pause button!!! WTF. please i have searched the web for answers, nobody has gotten back to me and ultimac has no contact info. This is my last resort!! Thank you!!! :banghead: |

Check ...double check...triple check...quadruple check your wiring. I cannot stress this enough. Check your grounds, check your wiring to the button and see if it is in the closed or open position. 99% of the time, this is the problem. There is a trouble shooter on IPAC that helped me at one time. Check ultimarcs website for specifics, but I would still start with the wiring. It is the first logical step. |

well i did that today and all my wiring seems to be in order, the buttons that are doubling are on opposite sides of the ipac as well as my control panel. also on my 3 and 4 player buttons, the button 5 and 6 buttons dont do anything. I grounded all the buttons together using ONE ground on the ipac, i originally had the left side grounded to one ground, and the right side grounded to the other ground. i thought that was the problem so i grounded them all together, same deal. I am pissed. but thanks for responding. LOL |

I have been exactly where you are. Take a step back and go over each button and where the wires come from. Sometimes stepping away, then looking at it later will help. I feel exactly as you have and said...but I checked all the wiring. Guess what....I missed one. |
