I don't have much/any experience building these things and wasn't sure if the CP stand in this build could stand on its own or needed additional support. Any thoughts on that? --- End quote --- I have a Dynamo Showcase and have never actually attached the pedestal to the monitor stand -- never had a problem. |

Careful with the jakobud plans, I found some of the measurements contradict each other. I made my cabinet based on those plans, but made some changes on the fly. The cabinet turned out really nice, but my med res monitor is currently broke. I sent the chassis out for repair, and it came back still broke. It's out again as of now. You should find if you angle the back slightly the pedestal will be plenty sturdy enough - ours uses wheels at the front and rubber feet at the back and it's plenty sturdy enough for hectic gaming: |

Awesome, thanks for the great feedback – made me feel a lot better about what I wanted to do now. The Dynamo build sounds like a great starting place for me - glad you were able to confirm the cp can stand on its own. Just have to keep an eye out for those conflicting measurements! Paladin, looks like you used a 38" monitor...I was planning on using a 36" CRT TV. Is the distance between where you stand and the monitor comfortable for you? Would you recommend bringing it closer or further away? Thanks for the advice guys -- its much appreciated! |
