Omega Race owners... help me
« on: April 17, 2009, 12:57:50 am »
I've cleaned out my OR mini, and reassembled the board set (which might not even work, due to acid damage) but there are two connectors that are not keyed and could go on to the board in either orientation.

One is the small 3-pin connector, the other is the main edge connector. Could you post a photo of that connector? Since it's got an 'L' shape to it, I could know how to put it on based on which direction the L faces...

For the 3-prong one... not so easy. I'll have to trace back the wires (I'm guessing it's power)

I hate it when that happens.  I hate it more when I forget to mark each connector with a sharpie just a little bit to remember this stuff...

... are the wires color coded enough that you could use a schematic to figure it out?

Posted photos over in my restoration thread. I don't know anymore why I thought I should start a new thread to discuss this topic.  ::)

Yeah, I learned pretty quick to mark the two identical connectors on the AR-2's.....stupid that they use different connectors everywhere in a game, but not on that one board.

The schematics could be your life-saver Ray, there's got to be a manual/drawing that show wire colors. Indeed a very good looking machine. I've never played OR in my life......

I did that on a sys7 pin a couple years ago and let out enough smoke to preserve a steak.  Even when they SAY they color code the connectors properly they don't always actually manufacture them that way.  Nevermind if they are the same size.   :banghead:
