I think the cars generally were off balance due to how the wheels are mounted.

--- Quote ---BTW, one year my older brother carved a replica of an Oldsmobile Aerotech Quad 4 for my pinewood derby.  It was entirely by hand, mostly using an xacto-knife.  Super cool.  I wish I had pictures of that.

Thing is, there are cars that are actually luxurious, let alone functional, and probably a bit cheaper, that are faster. There's an Aston Martin I think I really like for only a few hundred thou and does almost three hundred. Great sedan.

Ummm . . . . errrrr . . . . umm . . . You do realize that we're talking about pinewood derby cars.  They're not exactly known for being particularly luxurious.  In fact, being that they are a solid block of wood I would say they are decidedly not luxurious.

Ummon's link is to a high end race carish thingy, by Oldsmobile.

I think they're trying to highjack this thread into who knows about the most obscure race car.

...I owned a Dodge Dart road race car with a slant 6 motor.

ChadTower:

...I had a Ford EXP with a custom convertible frame... that sucker could go zero to sixty in under 5 minutes.

I had a dart, too. My first car. Nothing special about it, though. Anyways, I guess I should've explained that I was referring to the Olds linked.
