X-Men Origins: Wolverine--SPOILERS!

<< < (3/4) > >>

Flake:
This from the guy who is perusing threads...and in fact commenting on said thread.....in which he admittingly has no interest.

Someone clearly needs more to do.

Malenko:
I believe the premise of the attack was covert ops to take out a drug dealer and stryker used the mission to get the adamantium (sp?), like others said it was mostly used as a plot device to show off the teams powers.

PBJ, no ones is arguing anything, just discussing. This IS the EVERYTHING ELSE section, so why not talk about a pretty big movie release?

Exactly

TOK:
Dude I work with is a comic book guy and HATED this movie.

He said it might not irritate me because I'm not as into it as he is, but basically said he can't believe Marvel let the story of this get screwed up so bad. He told me Marvel insisted on creative control of movies because they were getting screwed up so bad, but thinks the X-Men series is probably exempt from that due to the way the deal went down when the first X-Men movie was released.

I did read the Wolverine: Origins graphic novel that covers his childhood (before the Weapon X part), but not anything covering the era of the movie.

shmokes:
Well, duh.  I know it was a plot device.  It just didn't make any sense.  Let me show you how a plot device is supposed to work:

Write a scene that makes sense in which the characters show off their abilities.

See how that works?  Serving some purpose doesn't suddenly turn poor writing into good writing.
