Where the Wild Things Are - Trailer

I think it looks fantastic.  One of my favorite books of all time.  If they were to make it so it looks like every other CGI HulkSpidermanFantasticFourWatchmenMonstersInc out there it wouldn't be worth making.  This movie has to stand out because of what the book represents.  Keep in mind they are making a full length movie out of a book with like 25 lines in it - there has to be a free reign of license here.

The one thing that I'm disappointed in is that Jim Henson couldn't be part of it.  This movie needs Jim Henson in a big way.

Funny, 'cuz I think CG is so overrated and overused. I was glad to see actual costumes. The faces on the monsters will be CGI, btw. And Jonze, the director, is working very closely with Maurice Sendak, the author of the original book, in order to bring them to life.

So, I'll wait to pass judgment. They don't show a lot of the vocal interaction with the monsters in the trailer.

Same here.  And if Sendak is actually involved with the visual representation I have faith... now if they can just make a Chicken Soup with Rice movie I'll be all set.   ;D

Makes me think of HR Puff and Stuff.

Ummon:
Yeah, great book, particularly the type of illustration, colors, etc. The costumes look okay, but all the 'human story' stuff I can quite pass on. But then, as mentioned, it wouldn't be 90 minutes.   ......
