I'm looking for some feedback on my (tentative) choice of monitor mounts. images follow my monitor is a WG 25" k7191 main project thread http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=80852.0 |

Not sure the overall support you are going to have but some of those strips of wood look a little thin for the weight and torque of a 25 inch monitor. This is just a gut feeling from the pictures viewed. |

that's what I was thinking, what is the conventional way to mount these sorts of monitors? |
| javeryh:
Run a 2x4 or strip of plywood from underneath the v-shaped pieces you made to the base of the cabinet. They will act like columns and distribute the load. I think that will work. |

That looks kinda weak. I built a shelf... 1/2" ply with the bottom boxed using wood the size of your mounts. I built that to hold the weight and the top mount is just a small piece for position similar to what you're using. The whole chassis rests on the shelf. I was in a hurry to get it done the other day, so I didn't take pics as I was going, sorry. |
