Power Supply question.
« on: March 04, 2002, 08:53:57 am »
hi all,

i can rewire stuff like a maniac but when it comes to power consumption (volts and amps), i am a bit clueless.  so, my power supply says this:

-5V 1A
+12V 1A
GND
+5V 7A
FG
AC 110V
AC 110V

and here is the link to the one happs is suggesting:

http://www.happcontrols.com/powersupplies/80006400.htm

as you can see, some of the amps are off.  can anyone here tell me if this will work or blow up my house?

thanks,

tony

The Happs one is actually better than the one you have (since its rated for 2 amps).  This just means it can handle a higher load than the old one (and probably last a little longer).  Should be a simple swap.

Forgive me for stating the obvious but in order tell you if something will work for a particular purpose, we kind of need to know that purpose.
