NewEgg Help with Barebones

ViciousXUSMC:
You can get good power supplies cheap, just gotta look around.

the 620w award winning corsair unit was like $75 on newegg yesterday,  $75 intant with $30 MIR.

I personally use PC P&C stuff in my high end rigs due to there warranty and undisputed reliability.  My Turbo 510 does not even have .01v of sag from idle to load and lets me fine tune the pents.

My current rig uses the 750w silencer.  Its not about the wattage, just the quality of parts.  A cheapo brand 1000w PSU probably performs about the same as a 500w good brand.

Check out Xoxide.com for great power supply deals too (and cooling products).  I have 3 of these and they are rock solid for over a year:  $23.99 580 Watts with 2 fans!

Also, I ran across these deals at www.newegg.com.
RAM:  $19.99 (2GB DDR2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16820134488
Motherboard: $54.99 w/integrated audio and video (ATI) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16813128342
CPU:  $56.99 AMD X2 5200 (2.7ghz) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16819103210
Hard Drive:  $41.99 (160GB Sata) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16822136075

You can get the whole thing for under $200.

You could always go for more RAM, but Win XP only sees 3 GB max.  2 GB is already overkill IMHO.

DDR2 is dirt cheap and for MAME, the speed of the DDR2 does not matter.  800 will do just fine, no need for 1066 unless it's on sale.

My machine is running AMD X2 4600+ (originally ran and AMD X2 4000+ and it ran fine).  I only upgraded because I gave away my other machine and 4600+ was the same price later when I ordered it.  I have 2GB of RAM.  160 GB hard drive (IDE, but the one above is SATA which will be faster).

Hope this helps!

Not to be a killjoy or anything. But including manufacture and model numbers preceding , within or after your product links would be really really really nice. I've hit up a lot of forums over the years with posts no less than six months old with links to products (and no description) only to find the manufacturer changed their link (URL structure, discontinued product, whatever) and no way to figure out what the heck the forum members were talking about and thusly, no reference point to make a purchase choice.
