Hey, now days a bank making a profit is good to hear.
Funny how we all hated them 2 years ago, now we cry for them & wish well (not in a altruistic manner of course)

There's a co-operative bank overhere that made a nice profit (2.8 billion Euro's) too called Rabobank. They are a pretty "old fashioned" bank that doesn't take too much risks and has no "bonus culture" that encourages short-term profit hunting. As a results, they gained a lot new customers the last year...
Well done.
I still hate banks and insurance companies. I've always said they are the biggest criminals in our society and the last year or so, everyone around me suddenly agrees. (Never had that before). I still definitely NOT feel sorry for them as THEY created this POS we're in now !
Same like GM. The best thing for it to happen is to let it go bankrupt. From the ashes a new leaner, more modern and especially a more cost-efficient company could be build. The axe to top-managers who earn WAY too much money, wether they do a good job or not.
They all earned LOADS of money the last decade, and now I should feel sorry for those people ? No way.

We get rabobank over here too - raboplus.co.nz - their claim to fame is they have a hot chick in the ad's, far from old fashioned. Quite popular bank among people with money to invest since they are not australian like most of the rest
