I know it's a matter of opinion generic or not, I like to not go to far off from the original, I have seen it with the custom control panel overlay, along with that custom bezel and I thought that it looked untraditional, but different. Any ways it's a matter of opinion, here is mine in a williams conversion:

(I'm still waiting on rich, at thisoldgame.com to produce / repro' the button stickers.)

Yeah, original is cool and your's looks nice, even if 'generic'.  I'm not a super purist and I don't remember it from back in the day, so it wouldn't matter to me.  I just think of what could have been had they went full out with the artwork had there been a dedicated cab.

Also, that monitor bezel looks too busy for my taste, and it looks like it's made for a 13" monitor in a 19" cab.

As always, to each his own!

Oh BTW, I don't think that this helps much, but since you're pretty into finding these, there was an auction for two sets of the button stickers sold on ebay September 23, 2007 - 110170160021 (yeah, it won't show it).  I know because I asked a question to the seller about them, who I THINK was Bill Burger, and the question is in my outlook folder.  I didn't buy them, I can't remember why - It's been too long!  Probably because he ignored my question, as he's known to do...  But my question was regarding them being listed as 'some used', while the picture didn't show them used.  So it seemed fishy/unusual, maybe that's why I didn't buy them. :shrug

Yeah Ive bought a buncha stuff from bill, I happen to like the guy he just gave me a nice combined shipping deal and in the past corrected an issue I had.. I heard he's 50/50 but ive really never had a huge concern or problem with him. I have actually even heard of people that get "black listed" from his auctions, and that he's the auction nazi, very similar to the soup nazi in seinfeld. I actually asked bill directly not too long ago about seeing if he had those bubble bobble sticker button sheets NOS and he said that those are very hard to find. I really doubt any one has a set that they are willing to sell, But it doesn't matter because they should be getting repro'd really soon. Actually the person I just bought Another Taito Bubble Bobble PCB from is also the one that's sending in his control panel to rich at thisoldgame, so those button stickers can get repro'd.

Not sure if I'm going to keep the other Bubble Bobble PCB just incase mine ever has problems with it or I might sell it for a chunky profit.

Also I happen to have a buncha NOS Generic Romstar overlays in various colors, of which I might be keep to put Gun.Smoke Kits together with.

NO DECALS FOR YOU!

I actually don't have a problem with him.  About a month ago I ordered a several items and he threw in some extras, lagniappe, if you will, along with a reasonable combined shipping cost.

Hey Mrclean, have you considered making your left joystick green?  That was my plan if I were to make a dedicated Bubble Bobble.

Sorry OP for going OT (at least your getting some bumps :) )

I thought about doing the green/blue combo for bub and bob for my shafts.. but the problem is that williams control panels are wood. The Light Blue shafts are 4'' the standard wico sticks are 3.5'' shafts.. So to my knowlege they don't have/make a light green 4'' wico stick. If they do I'm sure it wouldn't be new.  I didn't want the 3.5'' shafts because on the wood they sit too low like nintnedo joysticks. I actually was going to do green and blue buttons but they didn't look good because the green was too dark. On purpose I actually ordered 3 different color blue leafs but I didn't like them with the blue romstar overlay they didn't look good. The powderblue shafts seems to compliment the marquee, along with the red buttons/ red romstar text.
