Where does the coin microswitch go? SOLVED

Pages: (1/1)

rabidpuppy:

So I got this coin mech which is what I remember machines having as a kid, already set to take NZ/AUD 20 cent pieces ("hey gimmie some twennies!" - me 1982).   But I don't understand the where to put the microswitch (pic 2, pic 3-4 shows left & right sides).  I have no idea and it did not come with any instructions, but it looks like a standard device.

Another problem (Pic 1) shows a coin not going through properly, which makes me think I have moved something by mistake and it is no longer set to accept 20c pieces.   Is there a For Dummies on how to work these?

Cheers!  Pew pew pew (me playing Time Pilot 27 years ago)

at the bottum.
as coin travels in the track it will hit a switch "long L shaped wire"
just before coin hits bucket
it is a special type switch. not like the buttons on CP

Okay I figured out where to attach it.  Now what do I do with that wire?  Bend it?

I also still can't make a coin go through without it being caught and having to be rejected (see very first pic in first post).

DaOld Man:

I have never seen a coin mech like this one, but just guessing, I would say the wire needs to bend up into the slot so the coin will push the wire down as it falls through. (See modified image below).
I have no idea why the coin is hanging. Looks like a catch at the bottom of the coin has it. have you tried tying it back?

Thanks all sorted now.   For future reference of anyone else who may have this mech (the CM01 Mechanical "Classic" Coin Mech as sold by OzStick):

This shows the coin rolling correctly, the piece that has "CA CALLE" embossed on it needs to be very very slightly below the top level of the coin:

You can adjust this level by unscrewing here and dropping slightly:

Here is the bent microswitch wire as advised by DaOld Man (thank you).  Note it is much easier to bend it BEFORE attaching the microswitch:

Simulated action shot!   ;) Coin drops directly onto bent wire, pushing it back enough to trigger the microswitch:

Cheers!   (Please ignore that very distracting "tic tac orange bigbox" in the background of that last picture)
