Wow you have to wait a whole week before you can pick it up?  Why not just pack up a cooler full of Redbull and start getting some miles behind ya!

Words cannot properly paint a clear picture of how much ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- I am in right now with the GF for buying this.

It may be best if I actually did leave the house for a while  ;D She should forget all about it in 6 months though............Then I strike again with something else!

Its far from the cleanest pin Ive bought, this is new territory for me (I usually do not buy dirty machines).

I figure after taking all of the parts off, putting them in the dishwasher, polishing the metals, using the Treasure Cove 3-4 stage polish kit @ 2000rpms on the playfield to remove dirt/scratches/swirls, using the artistic talent of both myself & the GF on the cabinet + rebuilding all the pop bumpers & flippers this puppy should be ridiculously minty within a month or so & at a cost of apx $200.00

After all that however I am sure 6 months from now board issues will arise LOL

What the heck, here's another pic

You really run the plastics through a dishwasher cycle?  Interesting......

Believe me I can surely sympathize with your significant other issues....

If the plastic star posts are hazy I will just buy new ones since they are so cheap & really make a machine look new.

For now I know color rubber posts from cliffy are a must http://www.passionforpinball.com/colorsleeves.htm, the pop bumper skirts will get a colorful twist too (its also good to polish those too if you are breaking em down). http://www.marcospecialties.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=03-6035-3 &

The plastics will soak in a warm bowl of water & dish detergent, then get a sponge scrubbing & afterward I toss em in the dishwasher for a partial cycle to fully clean off all the soap residue (meaning not pots & pan full cycle heat dry).

Marco has NOS playfields for the WWF......... I am not looking to sell this thing, its a keeper (unless everything in my life fails) so perhaps I will ask for a Playfield for Christmas this year & then for my birthday (next Feb) I ask for a professional autobody clear coat.

I know, I know, lipstick on a pig but its not for sale so no matter regarding taking a loss.

Whoa, did PBJ just give props to a DE.....nice!

EDIT: jeepm, its all the way in Indiana.....yeah my ipod songlist will get old for sure

It is not that dirty, in fact this is one of those times the pics made it look worse than it really was (the flash even made invisible films, dirt & scratches appear)

I am just major major major OCD.

I even clean the caulk lines often along the baseboards in my bathroom because they bother me when I have a "sit".

The machine worked when I picked it up, then it didn't when I brought it home & now it does!

UPDATE: I played my first full game........completed wizard mode & hit 1.35 billion high score.

Sheesh, on my first game?

Thanks for the compliment,

Yeah the area can accommodate more machines & probably will but I like the open & clean feel the room has now (well once the pool table is completed) so only time will tell.

The machine needs a good shop job in order to meet my standards, one coil (pop bumper) does not work & the mechanics are probably all original (dirty, mushroomed, mangled leafs). I have already increased the coil pulse to "hard" in order to increase the power & installed new nylon sleeves in the flipper assemblies to liven it up until I give it some real love. This definitely made a difference right away but nothing replaces a true shop out, it will be a few weeks+.

Update: I have not even came within 50% of my first game's score, WTF!

Very nice.  Brings your total to 3 pins now?

FYI - there is a RR for sale now from a South County collector.  I wonder how much he wants for his?

Also has a No Fear pin for sale but that game seems to be for more advanced pin players.  All ramps and flow, I could see myself getting frustrated quickly on this game.

I really want a Royal Rumble.  Always have, never seen one... I have a nice minty playfield waiting to go into it should I find a beaten up one instead.

@ Flake: Dude buy that machine!!!! Odds are its going to be in the same price point as mine but closer & if the collector isn't just flipping it he probably already shopped it out.

@ Chad: I saw NOS playfields going for a pretty penny.........sell me your PF cheap!!!!!

@ Cyberflex: Thanks, its MDF I had Lowes cut, then I painted it to match the walls & used metal shelve rods mounted into the studs with I think 2" wood screws.

FYI........I actually have 4 pins: http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=2563 but that one is in the storage room & being repainted by my GF (shes an artist at night) & once completed clear coated (its going to be a 3 year project for sure).

Actually thats the same guy in Fenton I looked at purchasing a Stargate from.  I actually played a few games on that RR and No Fear when I was there looking at the Stargate.  I think he basically flips them, I mean he "cleans" them and fixes a few things here and there but I dont think its a real thorough shop job.  If I remember right though it was in pretty good shape but I didnt really examine it thoroughly when I was there.

Anyone have any opinions on the No Fear?  I played it in VP last night but I dont think the table recreation was up to date because it just didnt seem to play right.  I understand its a "fast" game but being the novice I am I wonder if it would appeal to me.

PW - How thoroughly are you going to clean your RR?  Are you stripping down the playfield?  How clean was the inside of the cabinet?

Flake - I saw he had a Stargate listed.  Are you not interested in it?

I have already been over there to look at it.  It was all jacked up - DMD display wasnt working right, he had to jack with it to get it to start up correctly, the pyramid didnt work right, etc.....He wanted $1100 for it back then now it looks like its down to $950 - I'm sure partially for the reason's I've stated.  I doubt he's fixed any of those issues, he didnt seem to care about the issues due to the price point he was selling at.  Maybe thats fair but thats more issues than I care to deal with initially.  When I was there the No Fear and RR were in much better looking shape.

Mine isn't NOS but it has almost zero wear on it.  It's about as good as a lot of NOS playfields I've seen, though, considering the usual amount of shelf wear on C title NOS playfields.

Ahh yeah I realized later on that's who you may have been referring to.........The SoCo dude is weird, plain & simple. I wouldn't buy anything from a commie who claims a machine is perfect & then the display & toys are not working.

Yeah the WWF will be getting completely stripped down, polished at high speeds via my drill & all assemblies rebuilt. I figure $200 in parts & 20 hours plus cabinet touchups to get this thing minty.

I just cant be the guy who buys a working machine, it has to be rebuilt & nearly clearcoated.

Right now my TFTC is getting some magic put into it, the thing is in a million parts. I cant wait to post pics of it outside in natural light to showcase this damn near Treasure Cove restoration.

Now theres a bold statement!  You may have to start seeing someone about your OCD.  I have a touch of it myself but have gotten a little better since my daughter has come on the scene - kids and a cleanliness OCD mix like oil and water.

I noticed on the TC site they dont actually take eveything off the playfield when they polish it using their kit and a drill (at least as displayed through the pics).  Are you really taking everything off to where its just the bare playfield or just the "top layer of toys" so to speak so you can get down the playfield using the sponges?  Just curious.   EDIT THAT - Just saw your post in another thread you had going.  That pretty much answered my question.

Look foward to seeing the pics of the "minty" pins.

No no no, EVERYTHING off.

In that pic from TC its apparent whoever actually bought that batman machine didn't get the rebuilt pop bumpers, slings or even new rubber they may or may not have been told they received......maybe he just put in a new coil sleeve & called it rebuilt? Tisk Tisk Tisk if so!

I know I posted this in another thread but these guys truly take EVERYTHING apart, itemize the parts replaced (darn near everything that moves or touches a moving part) & damn it sure looks nice (see 2nd pic): http://www.actionpinball.com/games/lw3/index.htm

Thats exactly what I am doing, just like that.

Man oh man I still have to order more parts but so far this is what came in last week for the TFTC

Give me about 2 weeks, maybe a tad longer as I may repaint the inside of the cab too since the insides are scratched

Hehehe.. the game was not made with any..  Its a good looking pin though but I did not like it..   It's at Johnnys in Barboursville, beside the Steak - n Shake resteraunt.  The game is .50 to play 3 balls and my game was over in less than 2 minutes.  I just did not care for it or the gameplay at all..
