I dual boot my iMac7,1 in Windows XP and use it as my cab testing mule before I make any changes to my dedicated cab machines. I've come across a copy of XP x64 and am considering installing it instead. Not sure if I'm quite there yet though.

Please let us know if you do it. I'm really, curious, I was thinking about trying something similar

I would love to switch over to 64-bit, but there really isn't a point in doing do so unless they get the EMS Top Gun II to work with it.  The main CHD games I play are Area 51, Max Force Duo, Carnevil, Police Trainer, House of Dead 1/2/3, Virtua Cop 1/2, and Eggventure.  The only games that give me the slightest bit of trouble are Blitz and Tekken.  The games I can't play outweigh the games I can play, make sure you make a list before you switch.

Boot Camp doesn't support XP x64, ond only certain macs support 64-bit versions of Vista. See here for details.

XP x64 driver support is lacking for the most part.

I'm just curious as to what specifically you are having problems with?  I know people have said light guns have a problem.  Its not like you are using printers and fax modems on a dedicated arcade machine (at least I think).

Everything Ive thrown on my XP64 has worked out of the box as well as it does on XP32.  The only thing that really gave me a headache was getting Mamewah to work, but even that I got figured out without too much fiddling.

Well, honestly I haven't messed with XP64 since shortly after it was released...  Back then driver support was still lacking quite a bit.

We had a storm that blew through the other night and it blew my cabinet PC...  Lost 2 hard drives, mobo, and Power Supply.  I just bought a new setup and a new 1tb drive that I am shipping to a friend to have restored for me.  I went ahead and installed XP64 on my OS drive and so far so good...  I haven't tried any emus/roms yet since they were all on the drive that blew and going to be restored soon.  Right now boot time is about 15 seconds, but it seems to be pretty speedy...  My opinion might change, but I am really looking forward to Windows 7 x64 to be released.
