AHHHHHHH the upside to all this x64 headache!!!!!!
Bender:
Just wanted to say that I finally compiled Mame64 for my machine today.
I've been wresting with XP x64 for about a month to get it running and in cooperation with all the software and hardware
PAYDIRT!!!!
on the same exact machine under 32 bit I cound't even get tekken to load and MK4 ran but was so slow it was even unwatchable
Enter Mame64
Now everything that I've thrown at it runs and is Fast and Playable !!!!!! Whoo Hooo!!!!! :D :D :D
and did I mention this is a laptop!
ViciousXUSMC:
Opposite experience here, all my machines are fast enough under x86 to have no slowdown, but under x64 the very first game I tried had noticeable audio issues that did not exists in x86.
It was only that one game though, but it was enough to make me stick with x86 since I had no issues with it. I suppose I should see if there is any real performance gain to be there and just how much it is.
laptop - 2.8ghz c2d w/ 4gb ram
desktop 3.6ghz q600 w/ 4gb ram
good to hear its working out for you though.
Dazz:
I'm waiting for Windows 7 before I make the switch to X64 on my cabinet... XP 64 is too much of a pain in the ass to fool with. It seems that most drivers work right after install and the emus that I've tried have all worked quite well.
Visitor Q:
I run Vista 64 on my cab and everyone asks why but honestly, I have had no issues getting most anything to work and as you have seen for yourself... MAME64 ROX!

I'm not sure what your saying, are you saying that the drivers and emu's work, so it's a pain to work with?
or are you saying the drivers and emu's work with windows 7?
just a little confused on your wording
