Now PLEASE just make a longer shaft for my u360! that's 3/4 of an inch more then the stock shaft. These balls fit the u360 right ?? also my Wico ball tops seem larger then my current u360 ball top.. Randy are yours the same size as the standard wico ball tops ?

I have no idea if the 6mm balls will fit the u360.  I don't own one, as I have a very nice analog arcade stick I built here, should I decide I need one on my panel ;).  But if they have a standard 6mm x 1 thread on the shaft, then they should fit.

As for the size compared to a WICO, no, they are about 1/16" smaller in diameter.  The size is based on my preference after having seen and used so many varieties of sticks.  IMHO, the size of the original WICO balls is almost comicly large.  Large ball tops are nice, but unless you are sporting size 13 shoes, something a little smaller is probably going to be better.  Based on what I have seen with the sales of the Versa-Balls, folks gravitate toward the 1 3/8" style by a much larger percent than those going for the 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" varieties.  So we emboldened that size by 1/16" to make what I consider to be the perfect ball top size, even though it cost us more to produce because it's a custom size.

Yeah, those old Wicos are huge.

Wow,

That sure beats my old faded Wico trackballs, looking more yellow every day. Would have been wild back in the 80's to have all those colors with a back light added, being in a usual dark arcade.

It's the weekend, so Randy may have other (non arcade/GGG related) things that take up his time.  I wouldn't worry about it taking "too long" until you give him at least one business day.

These balls were waiting on my stock of inserts to arrive.  They did and then I considered re-purposing them

*edit* Which I have decided to do for now.

Any update on your balls? I'm interested in blue balls mainly.   ;)

... but seriously ... 2 medium blue balls.

i suppose your right... but andy does offer a 10mm longer shaft which isn't long enough, at least not for me on my wood panel.

Why not top mount your stick? Will give you much more shaft.

I'll get these on the site very shortly.  They aren't doing me any good sitting on my shelves.

I am interested in two balls to replace the ones in my 2 Ultrastik 360s.  I would love to know when your balls are going to go on sale.

But seriously...when are these going to be available?

I would also like to know, what kind of business ignores potential customers?  I have written in this forum and also sent a sales question to groovy game gear and gotten no response in either case; nor has anyone else who has posted to this topic.  It would be really nice if we could get some kind of answer.  Thank you.

It looks like the balls are to be re-purposed.  They will be available as an option on an upcoming product.  They may or may not be available as a separate item after the introduction of the product(s) which use them.  I will make the determination at that time.

It seems there is some interest in these balls as a standalone product, given the posts on this topic; although I have no idea how to put this into a larger context to determine what the likely sales interest would be, I'm sure you'd be better at that given your experience and position.

That being said, why not buy some more from your source and sell them on?  Not worth your trouble?  If so, can you let us know where you got them so that we can at least try to procure them?  I'd be happy to buy them from you but if you're not selling, maybe you can at least do us a favor and put is in touch with whoever is ...

They are custom manufactured items by GroovyGameGear.  I source the components, then machine and build them myself.

I have four of the translucent blue balls that I bought from Randy a while back if anyone is interested. They are solid balls at the moment but I could drill/tap them or make some threaded inserts to suit any threaded stick.

I could potentially make some shafts for them too to fit a particular joystick.

Much appreciated but ... if you'd said four opaque red balls, we'd be in business!

Randy-

What's the scoop on these?  I'd place an order for 4 red opaque balls with M6x1mm threads today if you'll let me!

Thanks,
