What games am I missing out on by only giving 6 buttons per player?

I'm thinking of doing my next CP with only six buttons, except with the rows of buttons slightly shifted so that the Neo Geo layout is still there within the six buttons.

That is exactly how mine is set up.

Yeah, I just realized that. It helps to completely read a post every now and then. ;D

Because the offset 7 not only gives you a nice Neo Geo layout, it also works well with the Mortal Kombat series after the 'Run' button was added.  And it's not like 2 extra buttons (1 each for player 1 & 2) is a lot more money or work...

The answer to the original questions is "Nothing, if you plan to play arcade games. Potentially plenty if you plan to play console games as well."

I'd say most console games that would play well on a cabinet would work well with 6. But 8 would be a good catch all for consoles. I know Castle Crashers needs 8.  :(

But the question is, "Are there any Mortal Kombats worth playing after MKII, much less is MK worth playing at all?"

When working with limited CP space, such as my 23 5/8" one, I need all the room I can get if I plan to cram in a trackball and keep my spinner.

The console games worth playing on a cabinet only need six buttons. Anything more than that and you're better off using the appropriate controller.
