new go-kart (98 Integra GS-R)

I just bought my first sport compact.  I picked up a 98 acura integra from a friend of mine for $500.  Wow is this thing fun.  He needed a newer vehicle and also needed this to go away quick, hence the reduced price tag.  It needs some TLC but, wow.  It is like an adult version of those 2 seater go-karts sears used to sell back in the 80's/ 90's for fun and driving.   Plus the 30mpg isnt bad either.  My back hurt after my test drive.  It wasn't from any uncomfortable bits or not fitting.  I slammed the steering wheel to the right at 40 for an instant lane change to test the handling.  Absolutely no slip, it just turned immediately with no body roll whatsoever.  Unfortunately my lower back didn't like the sideways G-forces so i quit doing that.  there is a little bit of wheel hop when you launch in first and drop shift into second.  I'll have to swap in some suspension bushing to fix that.  Driving became enjoyable again.  I feel like going cruising now.  Unfortunately the daughter is having her afternoon nap so that is out of the question.  Maybe tomorrow.

My first car out of university (landed my first "real" job -- was my 3rd car purchased) was a brand new 1990 Integra SE (not available in the USA) where I dropped in a European VTEC (not available in NA at the time), dropped the suspension and upgraded a bunch of things (all purchased from Jackson Racing and back before the ricers happened along).

I loved that car -- it went very fast and handled wonderfully. Mrs. Cheffo did a number on it one sad weekend a ways back and I never did get around to fixing it, but it was always a fabulous car.

A buddy of mine had one, and essentially said the same about it. Don't know if I ever rode in it. Great price.

Jackson Racing?! Cheffo, did you live in SoCal? I used to take my CRX to them for maintenance back in the early 90's. Top notch mechanics and service.

Nope. My uncle used to race (both cars and bikes) and had nothing but good things to say about the guys at Jackson Racing, so he hooked me up when the time came.
