im 16 and this is my life right now, and when i was 8, so, i don't know, i think it may just be kid by kid, i know half of my friends just don't care about arcade stuff, and the other halfl think its beans.

That is the case, but it's not relevant. My point was that you can hope for things for you children, but placing expectations of this sort on them, as well as making your own emotional well-being dependent on them, isn't advised.

We had Dens growing up and it was a focal point for everyone except Dad. Dad liked smoking his tobacco pipe in the backyard, working on the house. Yet he did visit to watch the Love Boat or Threes Company when they came on.
Get a Den and make it whatever you want it to be. 8)

I have a gameroom now, and I love sharing it with people. I get more entertainment from watching others enjoy the games than playing them myself.
Arcades are meant to be full of people! Being alone in a real arcade back in the day would have sucked.
