MUGEN - general opinions?
vidmouse:
Just wondering what general opinions are on MUGEN?
It seems like a really cool creative outlet for some people, and I love the idea of being able to match up virtually whomever I want, but the play mechanics aren't quite the same as some of the original games or newer games.
I've been playing around with it last couple of days, finally got around to putting it on my cab. On my cab it's a much better experience than on my PC. It keeps crashing though but I think that's b/c of the screenpack I'm using. I'm taking back to ground zero and maybe going to build my own screenpack eventually.
I've been looking at some of the MUGEN communities but I was wondering what the cab-building community thought, really...
- what characters do you put on your cabs?
- do you put your own music to it?
- how do you control both characters in team arcade mode?

I was hoping to find out the same also ....I'm interested in getting MUGEN
(ive never played it, just only seen it in action)

I could not get Mugen to work full screen for me on my cab with Soft15khz running. In a window it was fine, but full screen it errored out with some "cant change resolution" error. Even though the machine was in the resolution and color depth it was trying to change to already.
Seems like something fun to mess with...but that's about it.
I deleted it from my cab once frustration set in...it's not worth the frustration is what I concluded.

its best if you make your own people, too many "authors" over-done super versions of everyone and its a giant stale-mate

It's okay, but I would never use it for serious fighting. Too many better games made professionally.
