If anyone was running, Gun.Smoke looks pretty darn good using Soft-15Khz and running at 352x256

I prefer Advancemame, as it runs it at 400x256@60hz. Of course, I can do 18khz, heh. I have to get warmed up on this game, again, though my best ain't above 250k.

YES!!! I may actually have a chance!!!
Just kidding. Hopefully nothing serious? A bad case of Nintendo thumb? Get well soon, man. You should use your downtime to rebuild your Wonderboy site (that is such a great site).
I am pretty addicted to this game. There is definitely a difficulty hump that you have to get over, but once you understand how things move in this game, it can be quite intense. I think I'm proficient enough at this point, I'll probably switch over to US set 2 like mrclean says and pad my score out a bit.
I hope someone steps up and starts pushing things... mrclean has to be pretty underwhelmed by our scores.

Haha, nothing serious. :) It's an existing problem, but the intensity of trigger action in Gun Smoke has brought it out. I'll take some down time and be back for round #13. >:D
I'm really enjoying these game competitions, it's keeping me more active in the rest of the forum.

I did re-send them in a long time ago to try to bump my score up but they never changed it. However to me more importantly I still have on DVD breaking the Non-MAME actual arcade dedicated on my Gun.Smoke machine from Nov. 2nd 2008. I might send it into Kelly Flewin in Canda since he originally reviewed my MAME score... or perhaps beat the record during a public performance in NH this year. The only thing that I'm not really excited about is playing Gun.Smoke in Funspot, NH with a bat top micro-switch joystick eww!
Also a side note, but I recently replaced my LCD with a 24.8'' CRT and need for MAME 106 to be the same as pixel aspect for MAME 129. If that makes any sense, basically the image for me seems too squeezed now. It looked perfect when I had the setting to ROL / Rotate MAME because I had my LCD on a vesa arm, and then the ratio was actually 9:6. I can't seem to figure out what ratio I need to have it running on my 4:3 CRT without looking soo compressed.

Having had lots of different arcade monitors, a can say the only one that i was able to get the right aspect ratio on was the billabs 27" CRT because it has a max resolution of 1024x768 which gave it plenty of room to fit.

It comes to mind to ask which direction he's thinking is squeezed. I tend to think 4:3 vertical games on a horizontal monitor look a little fat - meaning from side to side. 'Squeeze' to me means vertically shorter than the available display field of the monitor.) That's why, when using hwstretch or D3D, I've often used 5:4 or 7:5. I think I like 7:5 best, and natively set my screen geometry similarly.
