Nice work. I love that chromed rocket.

And +1 on the Velcro. That stuff really has 1001 uses. I've found that the glue they use on the self-adhesive versions often doesn't hold terribly well in the long haul so I tend to spread some silicon glue or liquid nails on the velcro before final placement, to make sure it won't come unstuck.

that way the next one can be goldplated lol :)
anyhow great work and a truely inspiring design shame about the rotation problem but you sir are a perfectionist and it will be nothing but perfect when done :D

OND, awesome, unbelievable work.

This is my first post and indeed I have only been lurking a short time but I felt compelled to to start with this (enormous) thread. I have some ideas, have done a few sketches and even gone as far as buying some materials but had not even considered posting anything about my (very basic) build, until reading through this thread. Ironically it is not your build that has inspired me to post (although it has inspired me on almost ever other level) but your passion for the craft and the community. I don't have 1/5000th of the skill you have but these posts make me want to be part of it all, and I can't do that in isolation.

So thank you for the inspiration and I think myself lucky that you've found this hobby as an outlet for your creative vision. I'd say keep it up but you seem indefatigable!

PS inspired though I am, there is not going to be much in the way of progress at my end for a little while, though my goal it to start before you stop.

OND would you care to share some pics of these custom CPs you been working on? I'm sure we all would love to see what else you designed/created.

Nice.

Quote
These headlamps were going for $5 a piece at a local camping shop which works out cheaper than I can buy the LEDS on their own.

I stumbled upon this trick a while back. In the states here, Harbor Freight gives away 9LED flashlights with a coupon all the time. I think I have about 15 of them now  :)

But they work great wired up to 12vdc with a small resistor. And a heck of a lot cheaper than buying the single LED's

I'm afraid if I had built this I would have become massively protective and not let anyone go near it, let alone touch it  :lol This is a candidate to be displayed in a glass cabinet
