Nice pick with the casters!

Jeez, you'll need to put it up on blocks and put mirrors on the floor like the do in the custom car shows!

That bottom needs a great big flaming OND logo or something airbrushed on it  :)

And some of those low rider lights to light up underneath it.

You HAVE to do that for the reveal. Which is oddly what I planned to do for the cabinet design you gave me, odd how this stuff circles around isn't it?

Looks great OND.  On those casters.  They look like office chair wheels.  Does any of them lock?  Might be ashame to have to chase the cab around as your playing it.  Also I like that logo you made.  Reminds me of a car logo.  Kind of like Build Ford Tough or something.

I've just been sitting back watching this one, but after I sat here and stared at a great number of the pictures I had to make it a point to express my love for the detail being put into this.  This may be one of those cabinets that you cat sit and gawk out for hours even when turned off. The fact that it'll play games seems like the bonus cherry on the sundae.   :applaud:

I picked up the casters at our hardware outlet Bunnings which is part of a large hardware chain here in Aussie.

Aussie?  You mean there's still a chance I could build the sickest cabinet in my country?  Whew.  I mean, I know the worldwide title isn't up for grabs anymore but at least I still have something to shoot for.   ;D

I am curious to learn more about your finishing technique.  So it looks like you use the spray putty for a base coat and then simultaneously wet sand and wipe it down (with the sponge) to get the surface nice and smooth with the 600 grit.  Do you start at 220 and work your way up or do you get the results immediately with the 600?  Are you ever concerned with the water doing damage to the other parts of the cabinet?  After you are satisfied with the texture of the putty, you then use a rattlecan to spray the top coat on - then you wet sand again using the same technique, correct?  Do you spray and sand multiple times?  Or do you spray, spray, spray and then sand after building up some thin coats.  Finally, do you add a clear coat on top?  Lots of question, I know!  I really love the finish you have been able to achieve and the fact that you seem to be able to create any shape (curves!) that you want with the bondo.

I tried putting a nice finish on one of my older cabs but it was all flat surfaces (and my procedure was a lot different than yours).  Yours looks much nicer and if I ever put myself through the pain again I want to do it properly!  This is inspiring work, Ond.

Okay, didn't make it through all 29 for my reread.  Sorry.  Also, still colorblind.

Those two sins aside and a requisite apology if you've already anwered these, what're your plans to control the rotation?  Will it be auto rotated on game selection?

Well DaOld Man's scripts are written in Bachi so you shouldn't have a problem, you can speak Bachi can't you?

Seriously if you have two batch files for rotating you can get DaOld Man's plugin working in about 45 seconds.  It's good stuff.

You see everyone, Ond's cabinet is why you don't tell people about this forum when they see your cabinet for the first time.  They might see this thread and recognize your shoddy POS cabinet for what it is.  I can't even tell what is a render and what is a real photo any more. :dizzy:

LOL and amen to this.  I post progress pics of my work on facebook and my friends/family think it is the most amazing thing they have ever seen.  Then I come over here to the forums and visit threads like OND's and do the Wayne's World "We're not worthy!"

I still send people here but a Mame'd Xevious cab (mine) doesn't even hold 1 candle against Ond's which blazes like the brightest sunny day you ever saw. "We're not worthy!" doesn't even come close to his greatness.

One Hundred and Eight THOUSAND and thirty one.

Im pretty new around here, first post made but read plenty in my search for ideas and inspiration. Read pretty much all of the Legends threads such as this one and Pixelhuggers.

My own build is plodding along (UK weather been a bit cold and frozen outside) and the "normal" people that I have shown it to have been impressed, I may one day post some pics of it here if it ever gets to the stage that I can feel happy showing it in such illustrious company.

I keep coming back to this thread, its becoming an obsession, I am truly stunned at the level you set yourself and then attained. You sir, are a very skilled person and I can only boggle at your vision and the results. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

Oh, and in case you are wondering, that number at the top? Thats the views on this thread, if this was a youtube vid they would be offering you advertising revenue!  :o

Very nice Ond

Love those caster wheels. I also agree the locks aren't really necessary. My cab has locks and sits on a smooth unfinished basement floor. Even without the locks engaged the cab doesn't really move while playing yet moves easy when pushing or pulling. It's hard to explain but you really require a momentum push/pull...regular play doesn't provide that. So long story short on carpet I would say your guess is really more a certainty...it will be just fine.
