Blasphemy.

Anything OND touches becomes gold. He's the Rumpelstiltskin of BYOAC.

I was only voicing an opinion  :dunno but like I said...

But meh, what do I know? I'm no OND..

Guys, please, no more random posts until the man from down under checks in with an update - I've gotten excited about seeing new pix 2 times this weekend for nothing!   :laugh2:

BUMP - OND, it's been a while... it's 2012. Show us some love!

I apologize to everyone who isn't OND that rushed to this thinking they'd see progress.

Absolutely beautiful! The only thing I'm not sure I understand is how the whole thing is to be secured together. How do you plan to get access to bolt the whole thing together?

Speaking of which I'm casting an eye over that Xenolix design I did, you gonna build it? I hope I'm standing in the right spot when folks throw money  ;D j/k

cheers

Ond

I have full plans to build it, holidays just got me away from it. I am shopping out a laptop so that I am 100% sure on dimensions. I have the wood for it laying around and I am itching to do this project. Pending weather, early march I am pretty set on building this thing.

You know what, I agree (and not just because it's easier  :) ).   Let's come back to the Rocket / flames etc once I'm done with the main build.   It's all too easy to get caught up in bling effects here and there on cabs but essentially I think (on this cab) the focus should be where the action is i.e. the screen and controls. I still appreciate the various input from other folks as well though!

Hi congrats on the progress, it looks fab, though something has been niggling at me for months since my comment (which might not have been as constructive as I wanted) but I couldn't put my finger on it till today...

Now please don't flame me, but I love the retro fifties feel, and it was when I saw a fifties style gumball machine that it all clicked in my head... if you want bling on the coin mech, then maybe look at a rotating coin drop rather than a slot?? Same sort of thing as DrVenture is doing with his Arcadium, but fifties, if you know what I mean..

Bah, I'm just blathering on.. I'll get my coat :-)

Best Wishes..

Wow, man! Just when I think you can't put any more icing on the cake. an "ignition" key start is brilliant for your cab. You should think about accompanying the barrel lock switch with one of those toggle switches covered by a switch guard, the kinda you would expect to see on a NASA ship. Well, no matter what you do, I am sure it will be great.  8)

These will go to certain BYOAC forum members.  It would be my way of marking the end of this project and saying thanks for the inspiration.  Who would get keys? I haven't thought that through yet.

That is a very cool idea and would be an unbelievable honor for anyone who receives one of those keys.

Well, I would nominate Saint as a key recipient for obvious reasons, then DaOldMan if you are using his Mrotate setup. Drventure has also provided a lot of feedback, so I think he's deserving.

You could also ebay one key and have the proceeds go to a charity of your choice, or of the winner's choice.  Link to the build in the listing of course.  I think that would add some nice legitamacy to the amount of time I spend on this hobby and I'd for sure be willing to throw down a pretty good chunk change for Deaf Literacy or <insert your preferred noprofit here> for the chance at a laser engraved OND key.  Whatchya think?

hmmmmm *scratches chin* a very interesting idea.  I LIKE IT! OK I'll ponder this some more.

And if it's not to much trouble you should really make a video of yourself wearing a purple felt top-hat touting your golden tickets.  How's your Gene Wilder impersination?

Of course you'll have to deal with the inevitable...

*Knock Knock Knock*
"OND residence, do I know you?"
"Yeah, I'm Le Chuck, I won this key see"
"Oh, wow, you're actually here"
"Yep, mind if I get in a game?"
"Uh, sure step in side"
"Do you have a couch I can crash on for a few days"
"Uh..."
"Wow, that smells delicous, am I in time for dinner?"
"Uh..."
"Listen, it's been a long trip, I'm gonna grab a shower"
"Get the ---fudgesicle--- off my porch"
*Knock Knock Knock*

Hey! I've got a legitimate arcade question!

How much does this thing weigh? I know that the usual cabs are fairly heavy with the MDF, so many of us stick on wheels to do those fine adjustments. But you've got a lot of fiberglass and some metal - is the cabinet light enough that you can move/adjust it? Or are you planning to do some sort of wheels/pads underneath still?
