Top quality work, as always. I think the rocketship looks great. Given the quality of Pixelhuggers cab, I don't think direct comparisons are a bad thing! And, c'mon. It's called Astro; it needs more space stuff or more Japanese robot children.

That rocket design is much better than the grill. The grill looks kinda menacing, but not in a complementing way IMHO. Some subtle light panel stuff perhaps, like you've done on the control panel?

Nope, NOT a fan of the bars. Looks like Wolverine's cab now.
Man, will my cab EVER be finished?

I like it but the first thing I thought of when I saw it was Star Trek.

I love the rocket idea and who cares if ou borrow from Pixelhugger?  He has a fantastic cabinet and there's no shame in "borrowing" his design ideas - that's the whole point of this forum and this hobby, right?  I can't wait to see your progress.

If the sprocket was chrome or Astro blue, I bet you wouldn't want/need the chrome plate. I'm wondering how that would look...

Ond, sorry to hear that you feel under the weather but I feel your pain.  I usually end up getting sick at least 4-5 times a year.  I don't think that I was ever sick that often when I lived in the states, but I have been living here in Japan for going on 12 years.  I am an elementary school teacher here which means I am innundated with germs on a daily basis.  The kids wipe their runny noses on their hands and then just have to come and crawl all over you  ;D.  Also here in Japan there is no such thing as central heating or central air conditioning.  During the winter, which doesn't get as cold as where I was born, the windows are opened between classes and the rooms are always cold as &'!%.

On a different note, you mentioned in a previous post that you were going to be making your 50s Sci-Fi theme.  This is going to be your game selection menu theme?  If that's the case I may be of some help to ya.  I am a movie poster nut, and since we built a new house with my game room/movie theater addition which is separate from the main house (I like to watch my movies and play my games with the volume way up in 5.1 ;D).  I have about 2300 movie posters ranging from the early 50's Sci-fi (Forbidden Planet, When Worlds Collide, The Day The Earth Stood Still, Destination Moon) movie posters.  They have all been linen backed and preserved.  For insurance purposes I had to have them valued and scanned with a high resolution scanner (I would hate to have anything happen to them, I grew up in my family's three screen movie theater).  If you need any images let me know.

Ok, I just spent the better part of my morning reading through EVERY page of this thread. Usually I mostly skim through, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything, then all the sudden i reach the end and I feel like tghe only white guy in a high five contest.........I was left hanging! :laugh2:

This machine is awesome by anyones standards, and so far certainly the best i've seen out there. The updates and photos are great and I can't wait to see more.

Personally, I want to turn my cabinet into firewood at this point, but I do believe that I will be stealing a bit of your design for my juke build minus all the hard work and attention to detail! With any luck the speakers will at least work.

Keep up the great work and I look forward to the finished product!!

Thanks a lot for the update. I don't think I have the self control needed to go the extra mile that you keep doing when you hit a snag. I would just do the "quick and dirty" fix, then keep it.  :laugh2:
