Hey Ond, when are you going to wash and wax it?   ;D  If the cab turns out 1/2 as good as the paint, WOW!!!

Stunning work my man. Reminds me of my first car - a shiny red Volkswagen Golf.  :applaud:

;D

Only kidding. That is so nice bud, you must be really pleased with that. It actually looks like a better finish than my car! Outstanding stuff!

Dang. You're going to have to tell people to take off their bracelets and wedding rings when they play that thing, for fear of wrecking that finish. Fantastic!

Some friends came over recently, and when one guy found out the cab had track and field, he says "Oh, I used to know a great trick for playing that game" and proceeded to pull out a pen, lever it between two fingers and whack at the two buttons using the pen (so as to get the really fast back and forth button pushes that game requires).

I had to grit my teeth from saying anything but the buttons seem to have held up fine.

But my cab's nowhere near as shiny as that!

Love that finish! It's gorgeous!

And I love the fact that in the first photo, the juxtaposition with the car in the background makes it look like the CP has wheels. :D

It drys to a very hard finish which means sanding and polishing yield great results (now I sound like an ad for the stuff  :P )
Ond

Man you aren't kidding....this thing is so shiny I even saw MY reflection looking at the picture of it.  :laugh2:
Awesome Job as always Ond!! I think I would rope it off and set it on a nice piece of carpeting like they do at car shows.  ;)

Sorry if someone already asked but what will you use to prevent scratches?  I had some special treatment on my car when it was new and it worked great (no idea what it is called though).  Super slick man!!!!!!

I want to know as well.  I'm guessing he's going to clearcoat the outside (possibly) and then use car wax on it.  I can tell you from experience, that this will definitely help.  I'd bought a 92 Sunbird GT in bright red - very similar, in fact - and had JUST waxed it when some guy scraped his car up along the side.  I had a 12"x24" square black smear/scratch on the side of the car from his bumper running up the rear bumper and was PISSED.  My Dad called me into the garage later that day, and had BUFFED THE ENTIRE THING OUT.  All that was left was a small 2" (albeit pretty deep) scratch.  If wax can make this much of a difference, that would be my call.

The chrome flames around the coin slot make it look very "eye of sauron" to me.   :dunno Maybe you could check what it's like as a circle or something else?  Or maybe something in blue to match that sweet control panel?

Gotta say I'm kinda siding with Erik on the flames thing. It doesn't quite seem to +fit+ the rest of the cab to me.... Maybe some swoopy 50's auto chrome or something.

But, you've got a hell of an eye for design, so I probably have no business commenting  :)

And the finish is fantastic BTW! Glad you're back at it!

What kind of guitar are you playing these days? I like your renders, they are on par with the ones of my spinal tap cab! You guys should hook up and trade 3d rendering secrets or something. Wizards!

I like your cab, it is totally retro-future, like the 90's batman cartoon.

Hmmmmm...  The rocket is a bit too "Pixelhugger", to me.  (That's not a bad thing, personally.)  I was thinking three chrome vertical 'lines' might be more in order, with the first and third line being ~12" in length, and the centre line being ~16"?  Something like a grille?

Otherwise, I'm loving this thing!

I think I know what you're getting at!  How about including the grill from an actual Astro?
