ok whew....the beast has returned...... :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

for some reason I though flocking was a one shot deal, cover the area with the glue, flock, shake off the rest for reuse....particles are to adhere to any area it finds glue, so you should get a good coat the first time.....make sure you send some detailed photos, interested to see how you do the flocking with multiple coats.....

Yes........although now you've said that I'm not so sure........ j/k   ;D On seeing the results of my first attempt I knew the velvet lined finish was worth it, though seldom seen, it's the sort of luxurious bling factor that seems to fit the cab's theme.

Ooops... didn't mean to imply it's overkill. Quite the contrary. I meant to say that going as far as you have on this project, no point is worth sparing. It's what makes this build so crazy interesting.

I'll be very interested in how you approach your wire management. There don't seem to be many off the shelf solutions for elegant undercarriage CP wiring.   :dunno

This is fantastic. One of me most coolest designs i have seen...
Just wondering do you have a goal on when it should be finished? Or is this something that will never get finished, a project for life...

I've been following this thread with great interest.  The work has been just incredible, the hacking of hardware even more so.  I just wanted to know if anyone else is digging the red/gray color combination  here.  I know the base is intended to be red, but I really like the pic with the gray base.
Looking Fantastic as always,
Thanks for sharing this with us,

I'd love to see details if/when you pick up a linear actuator for the lid lift. I SOOO wanted to use those in my cab, but the price and wiring seemed a bit daunting.

You know you're doing something right when people like the PRIMER finish for the actual unit ;)

I snapped a pic of a rocket hood ornament off an old car yesterday. Found it at an antique shop around here. It's kinda big so, I'm not sure it work for anything you're doing, but it sure reminded me of the retro future cab nonetheless.

I don't have the software installed to upload the pic right now, but here's an image that is very similar

This is the reason why building a cab is so problematic.  You can go with an existing design, a slim design, the widebody design, or you can go completely insane and design your own cab.  This one is certainly one of a kind, and is certain to continue to drum up conversation.

I'm considering purchasing a linear actuator to raise and lower the CP lid

I've been looking for one too, to automatically open my mame coffee table, but have you seen the price of them! I have a few saved ebay searches on the go, and even considered buying a second hand device that contains one, from wheelchairs to surgical equipment :)

I did find this guy who sells track actuators quite cheaply for his fighting robot hobby, like this one:

No reply to my enquiry email yet though... Let us know if you find a good source...

what type of paint are you using and how do you apply it? how durable is it?

I see you only have 3 admin buttons, what do you do for adding coins(or do you just use the coin drop)? no pause?
