Absolutely stunning Ond..usually spare buttons sit stitched into my pockets next to the lint...

I would love to see more detail on how you do the PVC inserts...they look amazing. IE how you take them from raw to...well....polished and molded...any pics on those details?

IE...the drill press method?...dremel for polish?

@Ond,

Awesome...really looking forward to seeing that part of the process documented (Both the PVC refinement and plunger!).

As for the PVC...where did you get that chunk from?

Ah no worries...my brother works for a sheet plastic company and I will ask him...for some reason I pictured you cutting pieces out of a pvc pipe but could never see the curves so was curious

1 foot square chunks makes much more sense and is much more scrounge worthy ;)

Thanks man, yep those are clear Seimitsu's with some printed art under the caps.  They will be lit with RGB LEDS using the secret Franco method  :lol

Keep that steel colossus coming, hey, did I just come up with a name for your cab???   :)

Cheers.  I was planning on using the same buttons for my whole CP integrating the CP art into the buttons, like all the SFIV people to to their fighting sticks.  I might just have to "borrow" ;) (or blatantly rip off) your admin button idea as well.  Just looks so classy.  Cant' wait to see them lit as well.

It is a bit of a steel colossus :lol  - It's currently the clubhouse leader for a name for my cab.  I like it.

Ond you are in a league all on your own.

It's great how you spend the time to document all the steps through out your build, most people just hammer through then take a picture.

+1.  No one is ever going to touch this project.  It is ridiculously complex, there is a TON of innovation, the overall design is beautiful and the craftsmanship is impeccable.  I'm so jealous.

Absolutely droolworthy.

This thing should be put in a giant glass case when its done! I don't know how you would allow anyone to touch this after putting such a crazy amount of work into it! You know who I'm talking about, the people whose knuckles turn white from moving the joystick so hard! I would have a separate cheap control panel beside the cab just for them!  :lol

WOW OND, your work never ceases to amaze me, although I'm impressed with alot of the projects on here, this one blows my mind, you even take awesome pictures.....I think I'd almost be afraid to play this when it's done, or let anyone within 5 feet of it, should be roped off somewhere in a museum, a work of art....

I'm waiting on how you fiberglass the globe around the top portion, I'm sure it will be a perfect sphere, with a paint job you'd see on a brand new ferrari...can't wait.

once again, so glad to see the progress, thanks for the detailed pics and descriptions!

take care...

Simply stunning! However, those LED's are wired in serial...

;)

Then I wound fine copper wire around each cathode post and solder and then repeat with the anode legs for two rings which connect all the LEDS in parallel.

Simply stunning! However, those LED's are wired in serial...

Looks parallel to me..

Each LED is connected to the previous one in a circle - looks serial to me. Parallel would have each LED connected to their own circuit. Here's a simple test - cut a connection to one of the LED's and see if they still light. I bet they don't...

Parallel.  You have basically, two physically parallel rails tied together in a loop.  It feeds + to one rail, - to the other.

You could cut any two leads -between- LED's (as long as it wasn't the ones between the power feed) and still have the ring work.
But wasn't it fun to think you won the lottery, just for a second there???
