Jeez, Ond. Think you could tidy that wiring up a bit there, bud?  ;)

Very nice. I've only wired up a few RGBs (I'm using those flickering fake tea light leds mostly for backlighting in my cab) and just the few I did were a pain. I'd have to think long and hard about wiring them up to each button!

Cool stuff.

Nice soldering skills there Ond. I normally wave a cigarette lighter under my black heat shrink but your orange would be discoloured. My plan also was to have only one USB cable attaching my CTL panel but already that is blown, I have an optipac and an Ipac board (thats 2 usb cables) and I just realised that there will be cables going down to the coin mechanism and then there are side flippers (for pinball) I am now considering too.

Ond,

Wrap each LED leg (except for common) with bit of tape, trim and slide shrink tubing over....

I'm in the process of wiring my cab, what's reasoning behind leaving the common bare?

My guess is to save effort. Since the rest of the legs are insulated with tape, there's really no need to wrap the last one -- it's covered by the shrink tubing anyway.

Man, will my cab EVER be finished?

...for all of those hair-drying sims, no doubt.  They're just not the same when you have to substitute a light gun.

How about mounting a hairdryer inside a GunCon?  Sounds more challenging to me.

What the hell? slipping away to page 2?  No way!

LOL...I think the last joke about the hairdryer kinda killed the room. ;)

Looking good, man.  That CP is going to be hot.

My next cab is going to have a LOT of time devoted to the CP.  My current one looks pathetic compared to some of the stuff I've seen here.  (To be fair, it's not done yet. :P) There are a lot of builds on here that are fairly average styles, but have a good paint job and a nice CP that make them unique.

New picks are in demand. ;)

This is by far one of my all time never going to forget cabs I've witnessed by photos being built here.

I just found this project a few days ago. I built a bartop cab back in '03 and I've kinda been out of the scene for a while. Getting back into it lately. I just wanted to post a reply here and say how impressed I am with this ambitious project. On my first read-through I think my jaw hit the floor with every new updated post. I can't wait to see this thing finished. Makes me really inspired. A huge thank you for sharing this with us.

I'm going to have to remove the unit and swap the Aussie 20 cent for the Token.  The Melbourne weather should be mild this weekend and the machine mocks me everytime I open the garage door to check it's still there  :lol so,  I've got no real excuses have I?

 I'd never have thought that my favourite build on these forums is being built by a fellow Melbournian.  It's a small world  :)

I've read this thread from start to finish and the attention to detail on this build is like nothing I've ever seen.  It's awesome!  You'd be able to hand this thread in as a resume to prospective employers and you'd be a walk up start to most tradie/engineering type jobs I reckon.

Agree about the weather. Lately it's been so hard to do anything that doesn't involove being in front of an air conditioner.

Look forward to more pics.
