Removing laminate...
(1/2) > >>
Lucky S.O.B.:
I have a dynamo cabinet that has the Red and Grey laminate that is chipped/Dirty and in general falling apart. My question to everyone is:

How difficult would it be to remove the laminate?
Is there any tricks to do this?

Or should I just laminate over the old stuff?

Brax:
Get a putty knife under it and it will come up surprisingly easy. If you need some help, apply heat from a hairdryer. Remove the glue gunk from the MDF before you reapply your laminate.

chisel+hammer works too !  :P

I used a putty knife and a hammer (i've got pics / description in my Diary of a Madman  on my site) and elbow grease.

A heat gun or a hair dryer woulda  worked/helped...

There are probably solvents that you could use to loosen up the glue, but I wouldn't recommend that approach.

paint scraper/hammer worked for me. if it's loose to begin with you can reach under it and start pealing it up.
