Help: No one-button esc on x-arcade

Just wired the x-arcade BYOAC kit and it works great but lacks a one button esc for quitting emus. No worries with Mame because there is a two button combo, and you can remap Mame. But my hacked emus want a one button esc to quit. The only option I see is programming another channel of the x-arcade, but then every time I power up the cab I have to switch the controls from its default to the other channel using a button. Not a huge issues but it's for smaller kids. Is there an easier way? I never hacked a program but I'm assuming changing the quit button is out of the question.

Can't you just map the emu's 1 button to escape? Isn't that what the x-arcade does when you press 1 + 2 player buttons?

dkubarek:

I have the emus mapped to esc but x-arcade doesn't quit them using the key combo. That must just work for Mame because it works fine there, but I have to use an actual escape key to quit out of other emus.

my x-arcade controller has 4 different code sets, that you select by sliding a switch on the back of the unit.  i reprogrammed mine a long time ago and i just leave the switch in that position..it starts up with that config every time...no need for manually switching it at all.  of course my x-arcade is a few years old, so they may have changed it since then...
